An Emmy Award nominee, Jason’s professionally produced plays include CHURCH & STATE (Off-Broadway, New World Stages, 2017, published by DPS, over 80 regional productions, Henry Award Winner for Best Play, Off-Broadway Alliance and L.A. Ovation Award Nominee for Best New Play, named one of Huffington Post's Top 10 Theatre Productions of 2016, NNPN Rolling World Premiere), HANDLE WITH CARE (Off-Broadway, The Westside Theatre, 2013-14, NY Times Critics’ Pick, published by DPS, over 30 regional productions, Theatre Bay Area Award Winner for Best Play), ON THE MARKET (JCC CenterStage, Burien Actors Theatre, Williamston Theatre, Theatre Jacksonville, published by Uproar Theatrics), DESTROYING DAVID (Circle Theatre, Dezart Performs), SOMEONE ELSE (NC Stage), DIVISION STREET (JCC CenterStage), BALTIMORE IN BLACK & WHITE (the cell theatre), and AMERICA IN ONE ROOM (Florida Studio Theatre, published by TRW Plays). He is the co-book writer of an original musical called THE SOUND with his wife and long-time collaborator, Charlotte Cohn, and actor/composer/lyricist Christian Douglas (Moulin Rouge! on Broadway). The musical was a Finalist for the Pipeline Arts Foundation and Vanguard Arts Fund at Olney Theatre Center, a two-time Semi-Finalist for the National Music Theater Conference at the O’Neill, had a staged reading at Safra Hall with TONY winner Debbie Gravitte, and a full production in May 2026 at JCC CenterStage in Rochester. Jason was the winner of the Hudson Valley Writers Workshop contest and a Finalist for the McKnight National Residency and Commission. His plays for students include MAKE 'EM LAUGH (over 30 high school and college productions, published by Uproar Theatrics) and two new titles, MITZVAH CRASHERS and SWEET 16 CRASHERS (also published by Uproar Theatrics). On television, Jason’s work as a writer and producer has been seen on HBO Max, National Geographic, the History Channel, A&E, Discovery, and Netflix. Jason and his wife live in New York City, while their daughter is studying theatre in the UK. They would like to move there some day.
